How To Access Your Online Bank Statements

What is a bank statement?

A bank statement tells you all of the transactions that have taken place from your bank account each month. A bank statement tells you all of the money that has gone out of your account as well as all of the money that has gone into your account. Bank statements are extremely detailed and show you the date of each transaction as well as where your money has gone or where it has come from. Bank statements also include other information such as personal information like your account number with the bank, your name and also your address. From your bank statement, you can also see your balance from the start of the period and the balance at the end of the period. This period is usually a month.

We recommend that you keep your bank statements as these may be needed in many different scenarios, especially when it comes to being accepted for a mortgage. It is the law that all banks are required to keep all of your statements for at least five years, even if you have closed your account with that specific bank, although some banks may charge you to access these statements if they are over a year old.

Bank statements can be digital or paper, here we will tell you how to access your online bank statements either through the bank’s website or their mobile banking app.

  3. Once you have located the request, enter all the required information and press continue
  4. You then need to agree to the terms and accept the fee to access your statement

  6. Finally, verify your information before confirming your request.

When it comes to accessing your documents through the mobile app, you, first of all, need to have the app downloaded onto your phone and you need to be logged into your account. You also need to confirm that you are okay with paper-free documents. Here are the steps to do that.

How to Enable Paper-free on your Santander accounts
